Paint in Lucca, Tuscany with fellow artists. Our artists workshop offers one and two week art courses in and around the historical town of Lucca. The sessions focus on covering subjects such as still-life drawing, the figure and landscape. Artists and/or students of all skills levels have the opportunity to learn and create at the studio.
The program at the studio is unique because the groups are small, the quality of the art experience is high and the prices are probably more affordable than any other art workshop in Italy.
Even though the art schedule is the same for everyone, more experienced artists can pursue their own vision and create a body of work by that is more of a departure from the curriculum. The surroundings, culture and atmosphere in this region of Italy can certainly stimulate a renewed creative process.

Either a small set of high quality bristle brushes or an inexpensive set of long handle, nylon brushes will do just fine. We recommend a range of approximately 5 brushes: large flat, medium flat, medium round and two smaller flat and round brushes.
Schedule at Studio
The artist workshop week begins on a Monday and ends on a Friday.
Ideally, Studio Borgo students will arrive at Lucca (by way of Pisa Galileo Galilei International Airport or by train) at least one day before the start of a week.
Starting on a Monday is not mandatory but it is encouraged. For maximum flexibility, students can join us for less than a week (four days or less).
Workshops are Monday-Friday from 9am – 2pm with a family style lunch on two studio days and a farewell dinner on Friday.
Meals are served outside the studio on the beautiful grounds overlooking the Serchio Valley. Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays are in the Studio at Borgo a Mozzano.
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, students will enjoy historic art excursions in the city of Lucca.
The Artists’ Studio tailors workshops according to the desired media each student prefers to work in including drawing with graphite, charcoal, conte crayon and/or pastel and painting with oil or acrylic.
