I had the privilege of visiting the beautiful isle of Capri in Campania Italy for the Capri Writers’ Festival and meeting the famous author Erica Jong at the writers festival Le Conversazione held every year in the last week of June or first week of July see www.leconversazioni.it/
The subject was diversity and also the fabulous author Hannon Al Shaykh spoke. The talks were held in the breath takingly beautiful Piazza Tragara with the spectacular view out over sea at sunset – such a magnificent setting and the weather divine.
Erica Jong is one of my heroines and I have read all her books and followed her for 30 years. She has had the courage to stand up and say what she thinks with the written word and has millions of books published in many languages. To see more about her see www.ericajong.com.
I was very excited to speak with her as I think she is one of the leading philosophers of my generation. She has been a strong challenging voice for women and introduced concepts that one else had the courage to say.
Capri really is an amazing island. It’s beauty is stunning – with views out over the gulf of Napoli and the Amalfi Coast from all different angles of the Island. However book early to get the best deals as the prices are high and the place very booked out this summer. You need to book at least six months before the Italian summer.
