Rome is the capital of the region of Lazio Italy. The Italian Government Accommodation tax has been raised from sept 2014. The City Council of Rome approved the introduction of an accommodation tax in Rome. The tax goes towards better organising the city’s urban services. It was implemented from the 1st January 2011 and is payable by all people staying in accommodation in Rome at the conclusion of each stay.

The tax also applies to those who have booked and paid for their accommodation through a travel agent or tour operator. The taxes are collected by the accommodation provider, not by Passion For Italy. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
